Internal micrometer, as a precision measuring tool, is mainly used to measure the internal dimensions of objects,
such as hole and inner diameter. It has the characteristics of high precision, high stability and easy operation,
and is widely used in machining, manufacturing, quality inspection and other fields.
An internal micrometer is constructed as following parts:
1. Fixed measuring jaw – Corresponding to the movable measuring jaw, it is fixed to the ruler frame and provides
a stable reference point for the measurement.
2. Movable measuring jaw – The movable measuring jaw is movable and adjusts its position by the rotation
of the micrometer screw in order to make contact with the other side of the inner wall of the object being measured.
The precise movement of the movable jaw is the key to measurement accuracy.
3. Locking screw – It is used to lock the position of the micrometer sleeve and micrometer screw after the measurement
is completed, preventing the measured value from changing due to unexpected changes.
4. Sleeve – The sleeve is a component that supports and protects the micrometer screw, and other components, which ensures
the stability and accuracy of the entire measuring mechanism during the measurement process.
5. Thimble – The thimble is an important reading component on the micrometer that rotates around a sleeve and is scaled.
By reading the scale on the thimble, the displacement of the movable jaw relative to the fixed jaw can be accurately determined,
and thus the inner diameter of the object to be measured can be obtained.
6. Measuring force device – It is used to control the force during measurement, and ensure that the contact between
the measuring jaw and the measured object during the measurement process is neither too tight nor too loose,
so as to ensure the accuracy of measurement.
Each part of the internal micrometer cooperates with each other, and the precise mechanical structure
and transmission principle realize the accurate measurement of the internal dimension.
