Thickness Gauge

July 18, 2025

A thickness gauge is a tool designed to measure how thick or thin a material is.  it is commonly used to measure and inspect the thickness of products (such as steel plates, steel strips, films, paper, metal foils, non-wovens, textile, leather, rubber, fabric, glass, plastic plate and other materials). These measurements are essential for ensuring quality and consistency in various applications.

Thickness Gauge

A thickness gauge are mainly consists of digital indicator or a mechanical dial indicator, press handle, handheld handle, measuring face(contact point).

 Thickness Gauge

There are two types of thickness gauges, including mechanical dial thickness gauge and digital thickness gauge.

Each type has its unique features, but the basic purpose remains the same: accurate thickness measurement.

This is traditional gauges that rely on manual operation. They include dial indicator and micrometers.
Best for basic measurements in woodworking, metalworking, and simple industrial tasks.

Thickness Gauge

Offer more precision and are equipped with an easy-to-read display.
Best for high-precision tasks like electronics, automotive work, and advanced metal fabrication.

Thickness Gauge

Thickness gauge available with several type measuring face as below:

Thickness Gauge

  • Flat measuring face suit for arious soft materials, such as paper, film, car covers, wires, leather, fabric, etc.
  • Ball measurng face suit for  various hard materials, such as lenses, metal plates, wood, etc.
  • Tube thickness measuring face suit for various metal pipes with circular cross-section and their wall thickness, PVC pipes, straws, etc.

Thickness gauge measuring depth available with 26mm,30mm,60mm,120mm, 200mm and 300mm, we also can customize wider measuring depth up to 800mm to meet special measurement requirement.

 Thickness Gauge

Using a thickness gauge offers several benefits:
Precision: It ensures your materials meet the exact specifications required for your project.
Quality Control: Helps maintain consistency in production or repair work.
Cost Efficiency: Avoids material wastage by ensuring you use the right thickness.
Safety: Ensures materials are thick enough for structural integrity and durability.

When it comes to precision, a thickness gauge is one of those tools that can make your work seamless. If you are in metalworking, automotive repair, or woodworking, a thickness gauge helps you measure the thickness of material with incredible accuracy.
